BP Cherry Point Refinery
BP Cherry Point Refinery opened in 1971, and is one of the newest refineries in the US. It is a large single stream refinery with capacity to process 230,000 barrels of crude per day into gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, and anode grade coke for aluminum smelters. The refinery is located on Puget Sound, approximately 90 miles north of Seattle, and 40 miles south of Vancouver, Canada. Belllingham, Washington (population 70,000) is the closest large town.
